Tips for an unforgettable weekend in Kristiansand:

Friday:

Check in at Hotel Caledonien, which has a perfect location in relation to Fiskebrygga, Kunstsilo, Kilden and Odderøya. Here you live in the middle of Smørøyet, and a drink at the hotel's rooftop bar, Club 21 is a perfect start to your weekend in Kristiansand.

Saturday:

After a good hotel breakfast, take a city walk in the center or sign up for a guided tour. This will familiarize you with the city center and all the experiences that are ready and waiting for you. Explore the city's street art, wander through the city's oldest district Posebyhaven, stroll along the seafront and admire the beautiful fortress, and finish with the Markens pedestrian street. There are rows of cozy outdoor seating areas here, and there are many options for lunch. On Torvet is also the Bakgården bar, which has won several awards for its good drinks.

In the afternoon, stroll down through the Fish Pier and visit the Kunstsilo. The old grain silo opens in a new guise, and houses, among other things, the Tangen collection. The building itself is a fantastic sight, and if you stroll down along the edge of the quay, you will come to the Georgian wine bar Gvino, where you can enjoy something good by the glass in the late afternoon.

Take a trip to Kilden theater and concert hall, whether you're going for a cultural feature or not, the building itself is worth a visit!

When you walk back up towards Fiskebrygga, make a stop at Red Dot winebar, where chef Trond Moi runs the bar and the Hos Moi restaurant. Masterclasses and winemakers' dinners are regularly organized here.

End the evening with a meal at Smag og Behag, one of the city's best restaurants, located in an old gymnasium.

Sunday:

Enjoy the delicious Sunday morning by walking from the hotel out onto Odderøya. Here you can enjoy fantastic views of the city and the archipelago, as well as explore historic bunkers. The island is also full of galleries, and some of the artists are open to visitors. At the far end of the peninsula you will also find Odderøya lighthouse, with its own cafe. Here you can have a Sunday waffle before strolling back. In the venerable Kommandantboligen, you can also enjoy something good in the cafe while looking out over the beautiful city.

Welcome to Kristiansand - where the experiences are in the centre!
