An adventure in the forest

Hillestad Galleri in Åmli opened in 1985. Since then, it has hosted many exhibitions featuring well-known artists from across Norway. Each year, the gallery is visited by around 13 000 people. At this unique gallery, with a distinct Norwegian character, you can enjoy and purchase beautiful art and handicrafts.

The café serves homemade kringle and rolls, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks and ice cream. Gluten-free rolls are available on request, as well as soup with bread. All food is homemade and locally sourced.

Pan Garden

Pan Garden is a hotel set in the heart of nature in Åmli, with easy access to the Jettegrytene in Nissedal and relatively short distances to the railway, the E18, Kristiansand Zoo and most of the coastal towns in Southern Norway.

It offers good conditions for different types of accommodation and catering, for both short and longer stays, as well as for exhibitions, courses and private events.

Idyllic Sigridnes

Sigridnes Camping is beautifully located along the banks of the River Nidelva. The campsite offers around 60 power outlets and shared facilities with showers and toilets. Surrounded by stunning nature, Sigridnes also has lovely sand beaches for swimming. You can go hiking in the surrounding hills or borrow a boat or canoe free of charge and enjoy the Nidelva as it flows past.

Åmli Church

Åmli Church is a majestic sight with a rich history. A visit here is a must when you are in Åmli.

Åmli is known for Åmfoss Bridge - one of the longest stone arch bridges in Norway, spanning the River Nidelva in the town centre.

Elvarheim Museum

At Elvarheim Museum, you can learn more about the wildlife found in the area and admire traditional costumes from Åmli, which form the basis of the Åmli bunad.

Åmli offers good skiing opportunities in peaceful, natural surroundings.

In winter, the area is particularly well suited for cross-country skiing and ski tours in unspoilt nature.
