Mette has spent all her holidays on Lista growing up, and knows the finest gems in the area, some famous and some more hidden treasures! Lista is known for beautiful beaches, varied nature, bird migration and a unique light. You can experience all of this on a trip with Mette. Mette says: "The nature at Lista is in a class of its own, and one of the finest things I know. The list probably has almost everything Norway can offer in miniature. Everything from long sandy beaches to rough and wild landscapes, lovely coastal paths, sea, fjords, moors, mountains, forests and the light here - it simply MUST be experienced! It's just as magical all year round". Today, Mette commutes between the Alps and Listalandskapet. She and her family live in both Farsund and Lake Constance in Austria. A specialist in nature experiences

In 2022, Mette completed her "wanderführer" training under the auspices of the Vorarlberg Bergführerverband in the Austrian Empire. With this education, she is a certified walking guide, who can take guests out into nature on guided missions. Mette says, "The very best thing about the job is showing nature, conveying interesting information and making the day a little better for the guests. Creating unforgettable memories in nature is one of the finest things I know. Many people walk in nature, often without "seeing it". Being able to make guests aware of the beautiful nature around us, whether it's on Lista or in the Alps, makes me happy. No matter how you feel, you always feel a little better after a walk in nature.” Mette has always had a great passion for nature, and believes that it can teach us a lot: "I like to say that nature is a 'happy pill'." Being able to share my passion for nature with others, whether on Lista or in the Alps, was the driving force for taking this comprehensive education”.

Want to create good tour memories

Mette tailors her tours to the guests' wishes, and adapts them to physical fitness and age. The aim is that you will be left with good memories from Lista, have positive experiences from the area and have a good feeling of mastery. At the same time, historical glimpses and knowledge about the nature the participants are traveling in are included. On the trips, Mette encourages people to show respect for nature, and makes clear the importance of trackless travel. There can often be important considerations to take in relation to rare plants, animals and bird species. There may be times of the year when it is important to stay on marked paths and avoid walking where you can disturb nature. The participants will learn more about this on a trip with Mette. Lista is a particularly important place for migratory birds, which you will experience when you are in the area.

Tour tips from Mette

One of the many favorite destinations with Mette is the guided trip to Varnes lighthouse, a trip of around five hours. The trip is suitable for participants in normal, good physical shape with basic hiking skills. Here you must be able to walk 8-9 km in hilly terrain. For those who want to take part in the trips to Mette, good shoes are a necessity! The hiking boots must be waterproof, preferably ankle-high and have a well-profiled sole. The rucksack should sit well on the back and not be too heavy. Pack only the essentials such as water, lunch and rain gear if needed, and dress according to the weather forecast.

Besides the favorite trip to Varnes lighthouse, Mette plans trips from Snekkestø, Vondestien to Uddal and back. The story is interesting, the landscape beautiful and the path exciting. Mette also recommends the trip from Jøllestø to Snekkestø, where she likes to do guided tours. Trips along the Coast Path from Lomsesanden to Havblikk and on to Loshavn are also destinations worth exploring with Mette.
