Tvedestrand feels like a small white harbour town. Old wooden houses climb from the sea up to the centre, creating a charming setting. Wander through narrow cobbled streets, enjoy the calm atmosphere, and take your time.

Small local shops, cosy places to eat, and charming bookstores give the town a special character.

Here there is a bustling life in the summer, and the sausage maker Ragnvald Zwilgmeyer offers unique taste experiences. Together with his wife Linn, who runs Linns lysstøperi, he has spent the last five years perfecting one thing: making the most delicious sausages in Southern Norway, served in the cafe the couple has run since 2012.

Solberg mine

Solberg mine was Næs Jernverk's "jewel". Here, the plant at Tvedestrand extracted ore for the extraction of iron. Today you can visit the mine and look for iron ore yourself, walk in the beautiful corridors with a flashlight and hear stories about the life of the miners in the 18th and 19th centuries.
