Christmas Opening in Risør
On 29 November 2025, the Christmas season in Risør begins with the lighting of the Christmas tree at Torvet, a visit from Santa, live music and a warm festive atmosphere in the town centre. Enjoy hot cocoa, cosy moments and shops that stay open for a delightful start to the holiday season.
Lucia Day in the Town Centre
On 13 December, the Lucia celebration fills Torvet with beautiful singing from the children’s choir, along with lussekatter and juice for everyone. The horses from Skjævestad take children and adults on a cosy ride through the town.
Shops are open until 16:00.
Evening Shopping and Dining Out
On 18 December, Risør invites you to a festive evening with music at Torvet, a fun Christmas dance for children dressed as little elves, and great flavours at local restaurants.
Several eateries offer an affordable dish, and the shops stay open until 21:00 for a cosy night of Christmas shopping.
