Setesdal has long traditions within the silversmith's craft, folk music and production of the bunad, the Norwegian national costume. We recommend a visit to the traditional store Setesdal Husflid in Valle. Setesdal also has a glassblowers workshop and art galleries which are worth a visit.
Go rafting in the river Otra, find a nice beach in Bygland or splash around with the kids in Hovden Aqualand. Explore the climbing forest in Evje, the steep mountains and the new via ferrata in Valle or try activities such as mountain biking, go-karting or bowling. Enjoy the great outdoors - go fishing in the river or hike the beautiful mountains in Setesdal.

The Setesdal valley has raised a number of nationally renowned artists within traditional music and dance. As a visitor you may get the opportunity to enjoy concerts and performances by local musicians and dancers. The folk music from Setesdal is on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

With more than 200 climbing routes this area is an eldorado for climbers. Solid granite with excellent friction makes climbing here an unforgettable adventure. Several of the routes have recently been equipped with stainless steel bolts and the belay stances have bolted chain protection. For inexperienced climbers we recommend the new via ferrata.
Throughout the valley there are excellent opportunities for walking and hiking. From Evje in the south to Hovden in the north, amazing viewpoints await you. In addition to the short round trips, there are several hiking routes connecting the various cabins of the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT).
Thanks to its location and climate, the entire Setesdal Valley enjoys long and stable winters. From wide, open country to floodlit trails through the forest, you are guaranteed to find your own skiing paradise. If you prefer hitting the slopes, Hovden is the largest alpine centre in the region.
As a part of the process of making Setesdal a sustainable tourist destination, several charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed along the main road RV 9. The latest addition is the new, large car park in the centre of Hovden.

Setesdal stretches from Evje in the south to Hovden in the north, a total of 147 kilometres. The RV9, starting in Kristiansand, runs through the entire valley. Setesdal is also an ideal starting point for day trips in this part of Southern Norway.
