To prevent inexperienced riders from getting into the more advanced areas of the park, the Hovden Alpine Centre has installed a “Jerry trap”. This is a rail across a two–three-metre gap which must be negotiated to enter the red (advanced) section of the park.
The main purpose is of course to prevent injuries among the riders and avoid other dangerous situations. When a rider approaches one of the large elements or jumps, it is impossible for him or her to see if a family with small children is loitering around the landing.
The chairlift to the summit Nos has been in operation since 1968. Today, the Hovden Alpine Centre is a modern and well-adapted facility for the whole family. The children's area "Tusseland" has become an eldorado for our youngest guests; and the terrain park "Bukkerittet" is more spectacular than ever.
