Internationally renowned for rare minerals

The Evje area has become internationally known for its large deposits of rare minerals. Most of the minerals are found in connection with quartz and feldspar veins. Years of mining resulted in hundreds of local mines and quarries.
The mines are no longer in operation, but the minerals can be seen at exhibitions.

The Mineral Park has a spectacular collection of stones. It contains the most beautiful stones and minerals you can imagine, and this is the basis for the entire adventure park.
There are a number of outdoor activities related to stones, activities which are unique to the Mineral Park. The park area is easy to get around and suitable for all ages.

The Evje Geomuseum focuses on Norwegian minerals, in particular through an impressive collection of local rocks. The many gems in the collection are unique in Norway.

Evje Mineral Trail covers five mines, of which three are of particular interest to collectors. A 2,5-kilometre nature trail forms a connecting link between the mines.

Norway's only gemstone polishing workshop is to be found at Oddestemmen in Evje. It specializes in Norwegian minerals and stone materials. Thulite, eclogite and larvikite are some of the finest Norwegian gemstones.
