A short drive from the town centre of Lyngdal is the hiking trail Skrelia. It is not very steep and is a relatively short distance from the carpark. From the top of Skreli, you can see down a gradual sloping mountain with a waterfall to the fjords below. There are fresh water bathing areas at the top of the mountain.
Vedefjell is a hiking trail where you see the top of the horizon and the coast all the way from Lindesnes to Farsund. The hike takes approximately one hour and begins at Belland. When you reach the top of the hike there is a sign post with information about bonfires that were lit along the coast to warn of impending dangers.
Kongeveien (Kings Road) was formerly an old Post Road which stretched from Lindlia by Lehnesfjorden to Bergsager. It was used as a postal road from 1790 to 1832 and has now been cleared specifically for hiking. The journey takes one and a half hours and is well marked.
Barnevandrerstien (The Childrens Hiking paths) start at Kvinesdal in the west, to Grimstad in the east. In the Lyngdal area, the trail is well marked from Kvinesdal to Snartemo in Hægebostad, up the hills to the Mydland and on to Konsmo. First stage (11 kilometres) from Årli in Kvinesdal to Snartemo the terrain is open bogs and groves, passing several beautiful mountain lakes. The highest point is 500 meters.
