Overview

Rostveitplassen cultural heritage site is an old manor place that has been restored.

Rostveitplassen was originally a homestead site under Nordre Rostveit, and now belongs to the farm Negard in Eppeland.

People have lived here since about 1865. Then there was one cow and all they produced was two barrels of potatoes. In 1875, only 1/8 barrels of potatoes were planted.

The families here had large flocks of children. Between 1916 and 1960 Marie Thorsen lived here. She was alone with four children and took on work
around the courtyards. The children were alone at home while she worked.
