Ravnedalen Valley Nature Park

Overview
Details

If you appreciate homemade burgers, fantastic nature and magical concerts in the summer, Ravnedalen is the place to be.

A vigorous and "mystical" nature park beneath the precipitous Ravneheia. The heath, lake and pair of swans are distinctive features.

Founded in 1876 by General Wergeland and his troops with financial assistance from the Municipal Association. The valley has been changed from a marsh and swamp area into a veritable Eden, with a wealth of plants and trees, both known and unknown.

During the summer months there are frequent concerts, festivals and theatre productions, while simple meals are served in the café. The park is maintained by the Parks and Athletics Department and was awarded the "Green Park of the Year" prize by the Norwegian Master Gardeners' Guild in 1991.

Ravnedalen is open all year round.
