Activities and attractions in Farsund

It does not matter which road you take to get to Farsund, once you get nearer to the town, you will start to smile as you see the mountains, fjords, coastline and harbour that is Farsund. This municipality has a lot of history and friendly locals with it's 9500 inhabitants. The municipality's three towns - Vanse, Vestbygda and old Farsund town - can offer both activities and opportunities for shopping.

Nature at its best

The nature varies greatly from the open landscape, mountains and sheltered valleys with dense forest. Farsund has ten kilometres of long sandy beaches perfect for a walk, wind surfing, kite surfing and surfboard riding. Due to the abundance of Lista's rich flora and fauna, many of the beaches are protected. Lista Lighthouse is also known as a birdwatcher’s paradise.

The American Vanse, Farsund and Lista

There is a strong American presence in Vanse, with American cars, flags, American migrants, diner stores and American foods. The town even has a road called Route 8 which is a little tour of Vanse and these American areas.
