Winter in Arendal

Winter in the Arendal area is calm and beautiful. Winter along the southern coast is somewhat warmer than the rest of the country. The snow might come in December or January, and whether it stays for a while or melts away varies from year to year.

Hiking and skiing

The hiking areas are well-used all year long, and the locals go skiing in the very same trails when the snow arrives. There are lighted ski runs and trails several places.

Ice skating

Arendal Artificial Ice Rink is open from November to March if it is cold enough outside. Amateurs and professionals can enjoy well-prepared ice every day during this period.
